Adams Farm Makes USA Today's Winter Sleigh Rides Top Ten List

It’s sleigh ride season at Adams Farm! Since 1980 Adams Farm has been offering afternoon and evening traditional Vermont sleigh rides pulled by Belgian draft horses, through the maple sugar grove, up along the ridge of their mountain, to an old log cabin for a warm up by the wood fires before coming back down the mountain. At the cabin, visitors warm up by the fire and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and some tunes from the player piano. Enjoy a game of checkers while you're there.

From mid-December to mid-March, we have day and evening sleigh rides as well as special sleigh rides for Christmas Eve and the New Year, the Full Moon, and Valentines Day.

Each sleigh is pulled by two Belgian draft horses and warm blankets are provided. The whole ride with the stop at the old log cabin lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Vermont sleigh rides are a perfect idea for any special event, such as a surprise birthday party, family get-together, motor coach tour or school trip, and makes the perfect place for a small intimate wedding. Local caterers have all enjoyed working at Adams Farm's special sleighing parties. The sleigh ride operation has three sleighs and can accommodate up to 50 people at a time. Private Sleigh Rides

Adams Farm also has a private vintage sleigh, which looks like it came straight from a Currier and Ives scene. It is pulled by one of the farm's own, Vermont Morgan Horses. This 35-40 minute journey is complete with German sleigh bells and a bear skin lap robe to cuddle beneath. Perfect for anyone wishing to "pop the question." Rates & Schedule

Cancellation Policy:

Adams Farm requires a valid credit card at the time reservations are made. Adams Farm requires that cancellations or changes in the number of people be made a minimum of 3 hours prior to the time the event is to take place. In some cases Adams Farm requires a 24 hour notice. The 24 hour cancellation policy will be clearly stated at the time of reservation. Failure to cancel or change reservations within the 3 hours / 24 hours of the event will result with a charge on the credit card provided at the time of reservation.

In the event Adams Farm needs to cancel an event, Adams Farm will call the reserved to cancel a minimum of 3 hours before the event was to have taken place, e.g. Sleigh Ride is at 7:30 p.m., Adams Farm will call by 4:30 p.m. to cancel. Reasons for canceling an event vary. Please call Adams Farm at 802-464-3762 if traveling long distances to ensure the event will go on as scheduled.
